Tres Piscinas (Three Pools) Waterfall- Located about 35 minutes south of the bungalow, this easy hike is perfect for an afternoon trip. It costs $6 per person and it’s about a 15 minute (easy) hike to the falls. You can jump into the pools and explore nature. It's a must see!
Miro’s Mountain Hike- Located on the south end of Jaco, across from the gas station (less than 10 minutes from the bungalow), there’s a driveway leading up to amazing trails to hike or mountain bike. Go up and to the right for an invigorating climb with some amazing views for photo ops! Keep walking up and to the left, the trail ends into a peaceful waterfall. Up and to the right takes you to more amazing views of Playa Hermosa. If you go straight from the entrance, there are several trailheads into the rainforest to see wildlife and breathe in nature. Cost is FREE. Bring water, snacks, and sunscreen.
RainMaker Park- Rainmakercostarica Located about 45 minutes south of the bungalows, there’s an amazing hiking park where you can see several waterfalls, hike hanging bridges, and see wildlife. The trails are well defined and the park offers lunch after your hike. Tours available or you can go on your own. The views from the hanging bridges are amazing and swimming in the waterfall pools is incredible. Cost is $20 per person or $25 with lunch included. Use caution if you’re afraid of heights. The bridges are intense but so worth it!
Neo Fauna Nature Walk- Located just 15 minutes north of the bungalows, this is a great little tour of local reptiles and a white-faced monkey that were rescued and nurtured to health. You will see frogs, snakes, butterflies, turtles, and more. It’s a short, amateur tour but it’s educational and inexpensive at $20 per person.
Manuel Antonio National Park- ManuelAntonioPark.com Located one hour south of the bungalows, this is an amazing day trip into nature. Several hiking trails, beaches, waterfalls, wildlife. make for a full day. Leave early, park opens at 7am and you can see the most wildlife early in the morning. Monkeys, sloths, toucans, and so much more to see! Park is closed on Mondays.
Nauyaca Waterfall Tour- NauyacawaterfallsCostaRica.com Located approx one hour and 20 minutes south of the bungalow, this is a booked tour on horseback to the most amazing waterfalls in all of Costa Rica. (You can hike but know that it’s approx 10k total.) Tour is 8-2 and includes breakfast and lunch at a local Tica home. You will see wildlife and experience the beauty of these magnificent falls. Cost is $70 per person and well worth it

**Note, we are not the fishing type. These are suggestions based on word of mouth and TripAdvisor.com reviews. There is an amazing marina 15 minutes north of the bungalows called Los Suenos and all local charters are docked here. We've been told this is some of the best fishing in Latin America!
